FRIDAY NIGHT FUN for FREE!

We're heading up to Santa Monica Pier for the Free Friday Night Movie on the Pier. Grab tickets from the table at CDC or ask me... While its a bit of a late evening, its great fun, free and proceeds from the evening go to a cancer relief fund. We usually have dinner at home, get the kids into p.j.'s and sweatshirts, then drive up to arrive at the pier by 7:15 - the movie starts at sundown. We also bring blankets and beach chairs (although if you rent chairs at the pier for $5 each the donation goes to the relief fund). The movie this week is Open Season (rated PG for "some rude humor, mild action").

Last Minute - but not too last minute to make some plans

Hey, all. Remember me? eh...ehhemm...grace?

I feel so lost in my working world. I haven't blogged, playdated, or even been good at returning calls. But I'm thinking of you all. And catching up on the last month of posts has been very satisfying.

I posted a little more than a month ago for a last minute get together. Must have been too last minute cause I didn't get anything put together. So, in advance of my next Last Minute opening...I'd like to say I'm looking for some reconnecting time next Monday and Tuesday (25th and 26th, I think). I'm taking a week off work, but my mom is taking Viv on Monday, and Lou and I will join her mid-week. I'm looking forward to some mom and Lou time, and I'd love to catch up with y'all. I'm hanging with Lou and Jude on Monday morning. Could I twist anyone's arm for an It's a Grind hang? Or maybe coffee at Livingston Park (or is it under construction?).

Any-hoo...miss you all. Look forward to connecting.

THURSDAY AT KIRA's

Playdate Thursday morning - my casa. Bring suits & towels. Inspired by our amazing Priscilla, I will also have craft tables under the shade. I'll make smoothies.

Hiya folks,
I'll have a bunch of arts/crafts for kids to work with. It'll be totally unstructured--so each of the kids that wants to make something will get a tray to fill up after combing thorough all of our "stuff". If you have a glue gun, bring it along. I have lots of cardboard objects kids can use as their base. If you have any interesting objects you'd rather bring for this recycled art project, then please do so. Gabe made an awesome sculpture once out of an old baby shoe boot! Also, if you have beads or stones or any other embelishments you'd like to pair down, then bring those, too: )The rest of the outdoor and first floor indoor space will be open for kids those who are done or uninterested in the crafting. The family room will be for younger tots, but there's the play room for the older ones.

Please let me know if you're coming. I'll have fruit, chips and dips and drinks for everyone, but bring along any other stuff you'll need for lunch.
